Steckel is graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Graphics Technology and a Master of Science in Deep Pixel Compositing.

Her concentrations in live-action post production were Rotoscoping, Paint Fix, and Compositing. She also studied under the Film Video Studies degree with a concentration in editing and has become Avid Certified as a User in Media Composer 5 & 6 as well as Symphony 6.
